The Plumas NF has many year-round offerings, however the peak, and our favorite, season runs from the 3rd week in April through the end of October.

We offer a variety of amenities to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable, including clean restrooms, picnic tables, grills for the best meals, a fire ring for telling stories around, and an endless playground for you and your kids to explore.

There's never a dull moment when camping with Royal Elk Park Management! Whether you enjoy hiking, fishing, swimming, or just relaxing by the campfire, there's something for everyone here. Check out Recreation.gov to make reservations at your favorite recreation spot on the Plumas NF.

Stay tuned for more updates, and we look forward to seeing you on Plumas National Forest!
Going cashless makes your visit easier, faster, and more convenient. You can quickly pay for your site using simple digital payment options—no need for exact change. It also helps keep your payment secure, so you can spend more time enjoying your stay and less time worrying about transactions.
With every new amenity comes a year of learning and transition. We are encouraging all visitors to use our new cashless payment options, which provide a faster, easier, and more secure way to pay for your site.
We understand that some families camp to unplug, may not carry cards, or simply prefer to use cash. Because of this, cash will still be accepted during this transition period. However, beginning in 2027, our sites will move to fully cashless payments.
We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to try our cashless options as we work toward a more convenient experience for all visitors.
